The safety features offered for the standard equipment includes six airbags, stability system and traction control and antilock brakes. A view camera and rear parking sensors are offered with the SEL trim and Limited version includes cruise control, a collision warning system before and monitors blind spot. The exterior of the 2018 new Ford Flex is said to retain the shape of the brand box, but with more sophisticated lines and smooth angles due to the redesigned grille and tailgate and more angular headlights. There will also be new lights on the front and rear end, and this model is rumored to lose the contrasting colors on the tailgate. In addition, there will be optional automatic xenon headlights, LED rear lights and fog lamps.
